New Orleans Three Years After the Storm: The Second Kaiser Post-Katrina Survey, 2008 -- August 2008
This comprehensive Kaiser Family Foundation survey (hyperlink to ContentPackagePage) of the experiences of New Orleans residents reveals a still-struggling population that gives very mixed reviews in key areas of the Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Most residents feel forgotten by the nation and its leaders yet are still optimistic about their city’s future. Designed and analyzed by Foundation researchers, the survey is the second of at least three that the Foundation will conduct to track residents’ experiences and views as the city rebuilds in the aftermath of the August 2005 storm.
Pulling It Together: Moving Away From Employer Based Coverage: Don't Forget Public Opinion -- June 2008
In the latest essay from the series "Pulling It Together, from Drew Altman," the Foundation’s President and CEO explores one factor important for the success of any proposal moving away from employment-based health insurance that has not received much attention to date—the public’s willingness to accept such a big change. These public attitudes are examined in the context of very different proposals to move away from an employment-based insurance system offered by both liberals and conservatives.
Kaiser Health Tracking Poll: Election 2008 – June 2008 -- June 2008
The June Kaiser Health Tracking Poll: Election 2008 poll finds most Americans reporting one of seven major financial issues as a result of the recent economic downturn.  Not surprisingly, with gas prices topping $4 per gallon nationally, people are most likely to cite paying for gas as a serious problem, followed by getting a well-paying job or a raise and paying for health care costs. The poll also examines Americans' views and opinions about health care costs and reforms.
Pulling It Together: Health IN the Economy -- May 2008
Will health fade as a public concern as the economy rises as the public's top priority? How are concerns about health and the economy linked? Does the rise of economic concerns present obstacles or opportunities for health reform? In his latest Pulling It Together essay, Foundation President Drew Altman takes on these questions, drawing from the Foundations's latest polls and analyses in a column called Health IN the Economy.
Kaiser Health Tracking Poll: Election 2008 -- April 2008 -- April 2008
This poll finds that health care costs rank among Americans' top personal economic problems, and their struggles to deal with those costs have affected both their financial well-being and their family’s health care. Conducted by the Foundation’s public opinion researchers, the poll probes into the economic concerns facing Americans and the ways they have dealt with the cost of health care.

Kaiser Health Tracking Poll: Election 2008 -- March 2008 -- March 2008
Growing economic worries have led to a sharp rise in the economy as a presidential campaign issue, eclipsing health and Iraq in this March 2008 poll.  At the same time, health care continues to play a role both as an independent issue and as part of the voters’ growing concerns about the economy.
USA Today/Kaiser Family Foundation/Harvard School of Public Health Survey: The Public on Prescription Drugs and Pharmaceutical Companies -- March 2008
Designed and analyzed jointly by the three partners, this USA Today/Kaiser/Harvard survey provides a comprehensive look at Americans’ views on, and experiences with, prescription drugs and the pharmaceutical industry, including drug costs, advertisements, safety issues, government regulation and medical research.

This survey conducted jointly by NPR and public opinion researchers at the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health examines how the public views different approaches for expanding health coverage, including provisions that would require individuals to purchase insurance or parents to obtain coverage for their children.
Health Care in the 2008 Presidential Primaries -- January 2008
This analysis find that the sharply contrasting health care platforms of the leading Democratic and Republican presidential candidates reflect dramatic differences in the perspectives of their primary voters.  Written by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Kaiser Family Foundation, the article analyzes a newly released Kaiser/Harvard survey of likely primary voters in 35 states (and the District of Columbia) with January or February primaries or caucuses, as well as data from 10 other recent surveys by national media polling organizations. It was published in the Jan. 24 New England Journal of Medicine.
