With the approach of World AIDS Day on December 1, the Kaiser Family Foundation is releasing several new and updated resources, including:

HIV Public Education Campaigns in the U.S. and Abroad
New HIV-themed programs, documentaries, news specials, and public service ads developed through Kaiser’s partnerships with MTV thinkHIV, BET on Rap-It-Up, and Univision on ¡Entérate!/¡Protégete! will air throughout the U.S.  Internationally, Kaiser also partners with the Global Media AIDS Initiative, African Broadcast Media Partnership, the Caribbean Broadcast media Partnership, MTV International on Staying Alive, and individual nationwide campaign in India and Russia, all of which will be conducting special World AIDS Day-related HIV/AIDS-themed programming as part of their ongoing work.

HIV/AIDS Fact Sheets
Two fact sheets, The Global HIV/AIDS Epidemic and The HIV/AIDS Epidemic in U.S., have been updated with the latest data available from UNAIDS and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This site has been updated with new state-level data from the CDC, some of which is exclusively available on www.statehealthfacts.org.

Media Fellowships
With support from the Kaiser Media Fellowship program, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel featured a four part series on AIDS orphans, beginning the last Sunday in November 2006, reported by Patricia Thompson, a Kaiser Media Fellow.

Resources include a narrated slide tutorial on the global HIV/AIDS epidemic, an issue module for students interested in volunteering on the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and a collection of course syllabi from classes on HIV policy.

GlobalHealthReporting.org
A project operated by Kaiser with major support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that provides in-depth information and resources on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Featured country pages, with recent news stories, relevant Web sites and organizations, and key reports and country-specific data, are available.

The Global HIV/AIDS Timeline
An interactive web-based timeline has been updated with key events and noteworthy activities-related to HIV/AIDS.
